Conference a success, breaking attendance record
Portland, OR - - Renewable energy company Otoka Energy is a
proud sponsor of the 2009 International Biomass Conference in
Portland, Oregon held April 28th-30th. The 2nd annual conference is
being called a wide-ranging success, as there were more than 1000
attendees representing 24 countries and more than 700
companies.
"It's tough to imagine a better
turnout," said Mike Bryan, CEO of BBI International which owns and
operates the event. "We are all pioneering an industry that will
take us to unimaginable heights. We expect this conference to catch
on like wildfire in the coming years."
The Biomass conference is the biggest of its kind in North
America, and Otoka VP of Corporate Development Nate Smith says it
serves as a tremendous meeting ground for companies in the biomass
space.
"The conference successfully brought together a mass of
participants and constituents of the biomass utilization
community", said Smith, adding that the conference "conveyed an
important message about the utilization of biomass waste streams,
the positive impact of technologies both old and new, and the
improved and sustainable utilization of our forestlands, both
federally and privately owned."
Smith, along with Otoka CTO Rob Broin and CEO Mike Muston,
attended the conference, and used the opportunity to discuss the
successes and potential of their company.
"For Otoka, the conference represented an opportunity to put our
name out there, to let others know of our interests and
participation in the next generations of biomass-to-energy."
Otoka Energy was a premiere partner sponsor, working in
conjunction with BBI to back to 2009 event. The 2010 BIOMASS
conference is slated to take place in Minneapolis, MN.
