Biomass
Why biomass? The sun provides us with all of the energy we could
ever need. Capturing that energy efficiently is the challenge
before us. Through biomass the sun's energy can be captured and
stored indefinitely, and ultimately, harvested and converted to our
benefit.
Biomass is readily available. The feedstock streams upon which
Otoka focuses are today often left unutilized; buried, burned,
disposed of, or left to decay. The technologies to convert it to
energy are ready. Biomass is a renewable, carbon-neutral feedstock
that can help transform our world from one reliant on fossil fuels
to one that is sustainable, and serve to improve the security of
local energy infrastructure.
Technology
Otoka understands that the conditions of biomass availability and
energy demands are subject to the local environment, and that there
is no one-size-fits-all solution to solve our energy challenges. To
develop consistently thoughtful, economic, and environmentally
responsible projects, Otoka works with a multitude of technology
providers who share Otoka's vision, and who have the respective
backgrounds, expertise, and credibility in their fields to provide,
and support, solutions that work.
Energy
The vast prevalence of energy consumed today is derived from fossil
fuels. That need not be the case. To make possible the maximum
utilization of available biomass, it must be converted into the
form of energy that is most needed locally, and most readily
produced from the type of biomass available . Through its
relationships, Otoka is creating a business platform with the
capability to mirror the world's need for flexible, intelligent
solutions.
